It’s time to start planning for the Mill Cities Relay!!    The 2024 Mill Cities Relay will be held on Sunday, December 8th beginning at 8am.  We came in 3rd place in 2023 missing 2nd by 1 point and came in 2nd place in 2021 and 2022. However, in 2019 we placed first, so let’s get back to our place as MCR champions and field GLRR’s best and largest number of teams yet!   What is the Mill Cities Relay?  Many regional running clubs belong to the Mill Cities Alliance which form teams in multiple age/gender groups for a relay race from Nashua NH to Lawrence MA, covering more than a marathon’s distance in the process.  While this is a race, and we always like putting together some competitive teams for our speedy runners,…

Abbott World Marathon Celebration – October Club Meeting

This is an early notice of our October Club Meeting,  On October 28th, our regular club meeting, we'll be celebrating members who have completed, or getting ready to complete the Abbott World Major Marathons... Boston, Chicago, New York, Berlin, London, and Tokyo.  The past year or two has seen a number of our amazing members complete this challenge.       We'll have our regular club meeting, club news, some race results, but then we'll open the floor to the incredible marathon  runners.  What a great way to socialize and inspire more runners to take on this challenge.     Also, for those members on their way to completing this challenge please come and be recognized as well.  Use this opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge for your future trips and…

Reminder to Volunteer for Baystate Marathon

Don't forget to sign up to volunteer for the 2024 Baystate Marathon.   Baystate Marathon is less than 3 weeks away on Sunday, October 20th!  Yikes! It's coming fast.  We really need your help. The success of Baystate is directly related to you as a volunteer.  Please go to this link to sign up to volunteer. Adult Field Day

There is one week left before we have our first Adult Field Day. In case you missed my earlier message, the Youth Team is sponsoring a day to introduce events in Track and Field that you may be less familiar with. This includes Starting Blocks Hurdles Javelin Long Jump Shot Put    This is scheduled for Saturday morning August 24th from 9 - 12 at Tewksbury High School. We have a rain date of Sunday August 25th same time and location.   While you can just show up the day of the event, we are asking people to fill out a survey so that we can better prepare.
