Do you love cheering at the Boston Marathon? Have you always wanted to be a volunteer with the BAA? We want to support any volunteer time our members are able to give to the running community so we thought we would share some helpful information.   The BAA (Boston Athletic Association) Volunteer registration for the 129th Boston Marathon will open on December 9th, 2024.    There is a high demand for volunteer spots for the Boston Marathon and if you register, you may or may not get picked. Membership Renewal

Membership
We are in process of consolidating our membership database and emailing system through RunSignUp. To have a more automated system to track memberships and communicate with our members.   Part of that process was to import current memberships. We completed the upload for all individual memberships and are in the process of manually entering family memberships at this time. We thought we had worked through any potential issues, so we activated the link.   We were unaware that you need to "claim" your account with us to "renew" your membership. Kid’s Christmas Party

We are excited to announce our GLRR Kids’ Christmas Party will be in mid-December.  An email to club members has been sent.   This party is whether you have a family membership, individual membership, or your kids are on the youth team, all children of GLRR members are invited. GLRR Boston Marathon Waivers

The club has been informed by the BAA we have received three Invitational Entries (aka waivers) for the 2025 Boston Marathon.   I know many of you are anxious to apply for one of those three waivers.  You can do so by completing this form: GLRR Boston Marathon Waiver Request for 2025 Race   Please note: You must be a current GLRR member in good standing for this year and next year (i.e. dues paid through 2025) You must reside in the Greater Lowell area (per the BAA) Waivers are awarded largely based on volunteering for the club during the year.
