GROUP RUNS
Here is a "blog" of the
group runs by glenn - he tries to update it each week (yeah right!!) -
The goal is to give you an idea of what to expect at our group runs
GLRR Group Run blog
Saturdays 8:00AM GLRR Group Run
Training on the Boston Marathon Course is done for
2008. The plan is to do it again next year. In fact it is
already in the calendar (really - go check the calendar link above).
So now we are back on the normal Saturday schedule -
which is
8:00 AM Group Runs from
the GLRR Office in downtown Lowell
(this is also the former site of Marx Running and Fitness)
The GLRR office is upstairs in the second floor - follow the hallway as
it twists and turns - you come to the office. We have a fridge,
kitchen and most important - a bathroom
You do not need to be fast to participate in this group run. I
(Glenn) do most of my heavy training during the week. I am
committed to running your pace (provided it's not fast than 7:30s).
Check the blog -
I've done short runs, longs runs and slow runs (as slow as 13 min pace)
- so if I'm there, you will have a partner! No excuses allowed!!
Here are a few of the courses we run:
4.5 Mile Loop
8.7 Mile Loop
10 Mile Loop
12.7 Mile Belvedere Loop
11.25 Mile East End & East Dracut Loop
Baystate
Prep 18 Miler
Sundays 8:00AM Non-GLRR Group Run
The time for this run changes as the weather
changes - basically we try to avoid the bitter cold and blistering heat.
8:00AM Sunday Group Runs from
Gold's Gym in
Chelmsford
(directions)
Many of us also run with a group from Gold's Gym in
Chelmsford on Sunday's.
This is not a club event - it is
hosted by the kindness of Rick Dupuis who runs Gold's in Chelmsford.
You need not be a member. Most of these runs tend to be longer,
faster and feature more hills than the club runs.
Here are a few of routes we run:
Robin Hill 9 Mile
Westford Center 11 Mile
Tyngsboro Bridge - Dunstable Rd - Sherburne Rd - 12 Miler
- add-ons for 15 to 22 by going farther along the river
in Lowell
Flat 13
Mile
Tyngsboro
Bridge 15.5 Mile
21.5
Mile Loop
